Poster digest

Abstract

Congratulations go to everyone who entered the 2022 POGP research competition. The winners were Alex Frankham, Dr Sinéad Dufour and Mags Clark- Smith (see pp. 87–88). They were awarded £50 and a slot to present their work at the POGP Virtual Study Day on 4 November 2022.
Five posters were submitted. The judges said that they “wanted all the participants to know they really admired the work that had gone into the projects and really enjoyed reading them”.
For some entrants, it was their first time designing a poster, and I would like to praise all those who put their work forward. I would also like to thank the judges for their time. It is admirable that the entrants put the effort into sharing their studies: this is how we all learn about new developments and our clinical area progresses. I hope
more people will choose to share their studies and service developments next year. I feel confi -
dent that there is more work being done by our members than we know.
We were able to award another three slots to Victoria Kendall, Karen Crudden, Colette Pollard and their co- authors (see pp. 88–91) to present their work at the 2022 POGP Virtual Study Day.
Unfortunately, we were unable to award a prize for an infographic.
In preparation for this year’s competition, I recommend that you read Kay Crotty’s (2018) article on how to design your poster. All the requirements are detailed online in the journal writing guidelines (POGP 2020). My best advice
would be to start preparation early and experiment with different poster design templates. We have now published a fantastic range of posters in past journals that will provide you with ideas for laying out your own.
