Overview:

POGP held its most recent PPHS discussion meeting in May 2025 and the group had some interesting and productive conversations around the differing experiences in setting up the PPHS across England and the innovative ways being used to overcome the challenges they are facing in setting up and maintaining the service.

Key points discussed included difficulty with recruitment/retention of staff, job security, longer-term security of the service, capacity and demand, clinic space, collaborative working with midwifery colleagues, audit and obtaining patient-reported data.

Aims of this meeting:

This follow-up meeting aims to discuss how members are progressing in the implementation of the PPHS; what is going well and what challenges are being faced and what strategies are members using to overcome the challenges. The main goal being to share ideas and innovations, different ways of working and to support members in providing the best quality service for our patients.
